The Flower City Arts Center, a not-for-profit arts education organization in Rochester, NY, is
looking for qualified candidates to fill a seat on the Board of Directors. The Flower City Arts Center
serves the community by bringing art education services to those in the community who may be
difficult to reach. Our Printmaking & Book Arts, Ceramics, and Photography & Digital Arts programs are available to
community members of any ages, income, or background.
Candidates must be over the age of 18. Special consideration is given to candidates who fill specific
needs of the Board (i.e. Visual Arts, Business, Education, Development, etc). Candidates will serve for
a two-year term in a volunteer capacity and must be able to attend monthly meetings, to serve on at
least one standing committee, and to provide at least a small measure of financial support. Other
desirable qualities include an ability to work in consensus mode with others, good leadership skills, a
respect for the community, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get down to work.
