Alternative Process: Caffenol
WEEKEND WORKSHOP!
Develop an understanding of processing black and white film and prints using Caffenol, an amazing non-toxic and eco-friendly process in which film and photographs are developed using coffee. The high acidity of coffee lends itself well to developing images and gives the printed photograph a sepia tone reminiscent of vintage photographs. On Saturday, students will learn about the process and develop a roll of film and on Sunday make some prints!
Required: Experience in the darkroom. Students supply film and paper. Ilford starter packs are available to purchase ($30) upon registration and includes 2 rolls of HP5 film and 25 sheets of RC paper.
