Photography and the Bicycle

Both have changed the world, yet few realize photography and the bicycle have a history that is intertwined. These classes will explore the history of the two subjects and give students an eye to use the bicycle as a means of photographic exploration. These classes are not directed towards a particular photographic medium; all cameras are welcome and various photographic techniques will be discussed. Each session will take place over three meetings. The second meeting of each session will be a bicycle ride field trip. The third meeting of each session will be a discussion of our photographs and experiences from the field trip. Bicycles and helmets are required. Please remember you will be riding a bicycle with your camera of choice during our field trip.

Each class session field trip is geared towards riders of all abilities. 1st session field trip: Urban landscape, bike riding on city streets. 2nd session field trip: Natural landscape, timed in hopes for fall colors. *Alternative dates will be provided if the weather does not suffice.*
