For over 40 years, I have been a potter for the sheer, simple pleasure of making things with my own hands. Watching the studio fill up with fresh pots, with new ideas to work out each working cycle, is a continuous joy. Making my living through pot making has always been a goal, but most importantly is my desire to create pots that are beautiful to look at and hold. I want them to give distinct pleasure in use, and carry some resonance between myself and the user. It is important to me that my pots end up somewhere people are cooking and eating and sharing. I work to make simple, sensual pots with quiet but robust surfaces made in a scale to convey generosity.
