Wonky with strong bones. After years of throwing, altering, constructing highly technical pots, Early Onset Parkinson’s now makes my intentional movements wonky, and a medication complication gifts me with lurchy unintentional movements. I work around and with this ever-changing unsteadiness while pursuing strong form and lyrical lines. My pots focus on elegant function, variations on visual units, and interrupted repetition while referencing lobed garden fruits, architecture, Sung and Koryo Dynasty pots, robust American diner-wares, and the Terracotta Army.
