I work out of my garage studio in Tacoma, WA. I am making softly colored pottery embellished with images of mermaid rabbits--witches who have learned to conquer their fears and dare to share their magics. The bunnies reflect my own relationship to the constant fears that plague everyday life, and they have inspired me to expand my studio in a way that includes more and more folks--in the form of students, regular studio members, and the general public. I believe that clay is for everyone, and I'm doing my best as a clay artist to share the knowledge, teach the art, and invite all--especially bipoc lgbtqia+ artists to come find their voice in clay.
Phi is a self taught potter who doesn't want others to struggle through learning clay processes on their own. Pottery is a community centered medium, and it's time to honor and celebrate it as such. Let's make some pots together!
