Ceramics High School Artist-In-Residence

Flower City Arts Center proudly announces our new Ceramics High School Artist-In-Residence program. Each year, we will accept 5-8 students in Grades 9-12 with a strong interest in ceramics, sculpture, and/or 3D art. The program is free of charge. Ceramics proficiency is a plus, but not required. Transportation is not provided.

High School Artists-In-Residence (HAIRs) will strengthen their skills to enhance personal work for college portfolios. They will learn all aspects of managing a studio practice: making clay & glazes, firing work, repairing kilns, and safety best practices. HAIRs will receive mentorship from Flower City Artists, including demonstrations and critiques to build their understanding of the material and its potential use for personal expression.

The residency runs from July through August.
