Photo Club Teacher
The Photography & Digital Arts Department of Flower City Arts Center, 713 Monroe Ave., is in need of photography teachers for our 2020-2021 Photo Club after school photography and writing program.
Our students are 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students who attend either Wilson Foundation Academy or James Monroe Highschool. You will be working with the same group of 5 students throughout the program.
Teachers meet for 22 teaching sessions either: Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday the week of November 30th 2020 through the week of May 28th 2021. Attendance is also required for two training sessions before the beginning of the program, along with the program’s culminating Awards Ceremony, Book Release, and Exhibition Reception at The Link Gallery in City Hall, dates TBD.
We have a specific need for bi-lingual teachers to work with our Spanish speaking students from James Monroe High School on Wednesdays.
Lead teachers MUST
Teachers are paid as independent contractors on a bi-weekly schedule at $22/hour for 6 hours a week. Be aware that you may need to devote additional hours per week planning field trips and activities, editing student pictures, and contacting families/following up with students.

Digital Arts Youth Program Teacher
The Photography & Digital Arts Department of Flower City Arts Center, 713 Monroe Ave., is in need of a digital arts teacher for our 2020 Our Vision Our Voice program, an after-school teen digital arts program for girls.
This is a 12 week program that will meet once a week for 3 hours. During this time students will produce a full-color magazine from concept, content creation to final design and layout. Our Vision, Our Voice gives young women the opportunity to learn new skills, and empowers them to share their experiences and dreams with the community. Content for their magazine may include personal poems and stories; interviews with neighbors, teachers, and friends; photographs captured in both a professional lighting studio and out in the community; and drawings and digital illustrations.
Teachers meet for 12 teaching sessions, Winter session 2020.
