In this one-day, intermediate-level printmaking workshop, students will explore experimental approaches to working with the translucency of Japanese papers in print and collage.
During the morning session, participants will print their own blocks or plates using a variety of Japanese papers. After a lunch break, the afternoon session will focus on collaging the prints and using additional materials such as charcoal, pastels, etc.
Participants should plan to bring the following:
- wood blocks, linoleum blocks, or intaglio plates
- drawing materials like charcoal, pastel, walnut ink, etc.
- working proofs of prints to use in collaging
