In this hands-on workshop, Ruth will demonstrate how she makes her richly decorated work, using tape to block off sections that are filled with colorful glazes. If you want to add some color and interest to your cone 6 clay work, this workshop is for you. Each participant will get a small tile, tape, stencils, and glazes to make their own tile using this technique; firing is included. Space is limited to 15, so sign up now!

Ruth Easterbrook is a ceramic artist and instructor who makes a variety of pottery forms with complex glazed surfaces. Her introduction to clay began in high school, and she continued earning a BFA in ceramics at Syracuse University, training as a production potter, being an intern, and assisting various artists. As her career advanced, Ruth became a resident artist in multiple programs and earned her MFA in ceramics at Alfred University in 2019. Currently, Ruth is one of the Artists in Residence at The Clay Studio, where she continues her studio practice. Ruth Easterbrook has been awarded NCECA Emerging Artist 2020 and Ceramics Monthly Emerging Artist in 2022, her work can be found in private and museum collections throughout the USA. Ruth will be exhibiting her work at the Flower City Pottery Invitational on Oct 11 - 13.
