This class introduces students to the cyanotype process, an alternative photographic method that uses basic chemistry and UV light to create stunning blue images.
Students will learn to mix and apply the light sensitive solution, expose images using 2D and natural materials (as pictured), and produce cyanotype photos using digital negatives. We will cover the use of both natural sunlight and artificial UV light sources, guidance on paper selection, and techniques to modify color and contrast such as bleaching and toning.
$10 included for materials. No prior experience is required.
