Explore foundational surface design elements and repeat patterning for hand-printed and dyed fabric. This class will explore a variety of tools, materials, and methods for working with cotton, hemp, and silk fabrics suitable for printing, painting, and dyeing. From basic design principles to mixed-media methods, this course is designed for beginners and intermediate artists who wish to enhance their creative practice with textiles. Students will experiment with printing methods, including screen printing and hand-carved and laser-engraved block printing, while exploring color mixing and pattern repetition to achieve unique and captivating designs. Throughout this 4-week class, participants will engage in hands-on projects and receive personalized guidance to develop their unique style in fabric surface design. Included: $30 materials fee
