Exploring Flag Books

Interested in trying bookbinding or expanding your practice? Have you been holding onto collage material waiting for something to do with it? This one-day workshop is for you! Learn the flag book structure to experiment with old prints, collaged photographs, decorative papers, and more! Flag books are a unique form with pages (or flags) that cross over each other using an accordion-folded spine. This gives opportunities for imagery to interact in different ways depending on the position of the book. These characteristics make the structure great for exploring with collage imagery and bringing new life to materials. No experience with flag books is necessary, some bookbinding experience is suggested but not required! All materials provided.
