Originating in 19th century Japan, gyotaku (meaning "print fish") developed from the need to record the exact size of a trophy catch and evolved into a beautiful artform. Today, Gyotaku fish prints can be created for wall art, wrapping paper, banners, and more!
In this drop-in workshop, students will learn how to make a fish print using rubber fish forms, water-based inks and paper. Experiment with color and pressure and walk away with a one-of-a-kind print. No experience necessary. All materials provided. Note: Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
