Ever looked at your growing pile of printed photographs and wondered how to breathe new life into them? Or curious about introducing sustainability and recycling into your art practice? Or maybe you're just looking for an artistic exercise to get you out of your head and get those creative juices flowing again? No matter which one of those sounds like you, this class is the perfect introduction to reusing/repurposing old photos as well as exploring the trending world of collage using book materials, old magazines or even 'garbage' cardboard, textiles or other materials.
Students should bring a variety of printed photos, as well as magazines or other media, scrap papers, packing materials, or any other items that spark inspiration which can be harvested for collage.
Scissors, glue, tape and foundational substrates and some image materials will be provided.
