Woodcut block printing is the forerunner of linoleum printing.
Learn to use the grain of the wood to create texture and mood
in this exciting and ancient form of block printing. Although
there are many cultures that have adopted woodcut as a
means of printing, students in this class will learn the European
method perfected by Albrecht Durer and his workshop. We
will build our own stop-blocks, learn to sharpen our cutting
tools, draw a design onto wood, cut, and print an edition.
Students will leave the class ready to print on their own.
Fee includes $55 for materials and tools.
