Alternative Process: Kallitype

Alternative Process: Kallitype image
The art of making the wet print is revived in this fusion of digital printing and ancient photographic process. You'll create highly detailed, specialized negatives for the Kallitype process using digital files and inkjet transparency film. These negatives will be used to create Kallitype prints, a unique process that combines silver and iron under sunlight to create archival prints. Various developing solutions can be used to give a different image color (brown, sepia, blue, maroon and black). Kallitype images generally have a richer tonal range than the cyanotype, and are completely archival. Explore the exciting possibilities of this beautiful alternative process with a contemporary approach.
