This intensive one-day, second-level course is geared toward students with prior experience in Kallitype printing. It will provide in-depth negative preparation instructions with hands-on time to make your own negatives, review Kallitype chemistry preparation, and get an introduction into alternate toning options. The remainder of the day will offer mentored, hands-on printing time and an opportunity to tone your best prints with palladium toner! Students must bring 4-6 images on a flash drive (instructors will help you to select the best images for use with Kallitype) and your preferred Kallitype printing papers. Included: $25 for materials. All other materials will be provided, including chemistry, tools, and plastic film transparency. Instructors Jen Perena and Nancy Holowka both learned the kallitype process at Flower City Arts Center and have been practicing it for years, exhibiting their work and sharing their knowledge and tips in local artist talks and classes. This course allows them to share everything they have learned and inspire photographers to refine their Kallitype-making skills.
