Intro to Large Format Photography

Intro to Large Format Photography image
Larger negatives create beautiful prints with finer detail than 35mm film. In this hands-on class, students will learn to use a 4x5 camera and practice taking pictures, process black and white sheet film, and make contact prints in the darkroom. You'll explore basic camera functions, including how to use tilts and swings to control perspective and focus, discuss 4x5 lenses, and learn how to load and operate film holders. Prior darkroom experience is helpful but not required. Bring your own large format camera or use one provided. A $30 materials fee covers film and darkroom access for the duration of the class.
