Linoleum Block Printing Workshop

In this one-day workshop you will learn the basics of linoleum block printing. You will carve and print two linoleum blocks, to create several of your own 3” x 5” two-color prints and note cards. In this workshop, you’ll learn best practices for carving the linoleum and tips for multi-color registration. We’ll explore the different equipment you can use to make your prints, from wooden spoons to hand presses. You’ll go home with several prints, your own printmaking kit, and the experience and confidence to continue to grow as a printmaker. You can work with provided designs, or you can bring your own sketches. If you are interested in carving your own designs, it will be especially important to sign up by July 8th so the instructor can work with you via email to help you develop a design that will work as a linoleum block print. This class is appropriate for both those with printmaking experience as well as a complete beginner. Fee includes $30 for materials. Workshop includes lunch from DogTown.
