Creating a Photo Garden & Ethical Foraging Methods

Photography has been closely intertwined with botany and curiosity for the natural world since its inception. This one-day workshop will meet outdoors at the Hamilton Street ‘Victory’ Garden in Rochester's South Wedge neighborhood.

Students will learn how to make their own photo garden and practice ethical foraging methods as well as how to grow and gather plants that can be integrated into a variety of alternative and historical photographic processes. The class will focus on permagarden best practices, constructing a sustainable garden in careful relation to the surrounding natural ecosystem.
