In this two-day workshop students will learn the art of photopolymer gravure printing. Using light-sensitive steel-backed plates, participants will create gravure etching prints from their photographs.
No prior experience with printmaking is required, however, knowledge of digital photo processing and Photoshop are a must.
All necessary aspects of printmaking will be discussed including choosing inks, papers, and wiping materials. Students will each create one A5 plate and multiple prints.
Note: Prior to the start of the workshop, participants will be asked to send image files (300 dpi at 10” on the long side) to be made into a digital positive.
An email with details will be sent prior to the first class.
Included: $45 materials fee.
