This two-day workshop is for photographers interested in learning how to process silver gelatin
film and paper with non-toxic plant-based developers. Students should have a basic
understanding of darkroom photography and be looking to explore eco-friendly alternatives to
traditional black and white chemistry. The course will cover processes from start to finish, how
to harness plant phenols, mix developers, and process both film and paper with several herbal
recipes to experiment with a variety of results.
Please bring 1-2 rolls of exposed black and white film (35 mm or 120).
Black and white darkroom paper will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own.
