A situational portrait captures a person within their real-life environment, telling a story by showing their activities, surroundings, and interactions, rather than just a posed face; it's about revealing personality and context through lifestyle, environmental, or conceptual photography, where the background and situation become as crucial as the subject.
Using natural and available light you'll discover how to improve your images and make better choices in physical space, ISO, shutter, and aperture setting.
Course includes historical review of great situational portraits, but also hands-on practice. Students will give and get feedback in a final peer-review session.
Required: Working knowledge of Digital or Film SLR, or mirrorless camera.
