Photography: Street Photography: ONLINE image
Use your camera to dive into life through the art of Street Photography. Instructor, Bruno Chalifour, began his photography career in France where street photography was the fundamental photographic culture. His decades of work in street photography and photo journalism were informed by early street photographers like Kertész, Cartier-Bresson, Doisneau, Ronis and further by a new generation of street photographers such as Friedlander, Meyerowitz, and Winogrand who embraced the genre in the US during the 1960s. Learn about the art of street photography and see images by many important street photographers. Discover the best ways to photograph people in their activities and capture the way they interact with one another and their environment. Students will have the opportunity to practice technical control and make their own street photographs and hone their street photography skills. Participants will be required to take photographs which will be reviewed and critiqued. Required: SLR, DSLR or cell phone camera with manual controls for focus and exposure. Preferred lenses: 13 to 35 mm for APS-C cameras, or 20 to 50 mm for full frame cameras (or zooms covering these focal lengths).
