Studio Photography for Teens (Ages 14-17) image
In this weeklong workshop students will design historical scenes using various toys and materials creating their own interpretation of history and identity. Students will then learn how to photograph their scenes with the White Lightning strobe system and Lowel tungsten lamps in our Lighting Studio. Students will learn to use an exposure meter, soft boxes, umbrellas, and various attachments for multiple lighting set-ups and techniques. Students will have the unique experience of meeting renowned photographer David Levinthal for an exclusive tour of his exhibition David Levinthal: War, Myth, Desire. Students are invited to bring their own camera (film or digital) to use for this workshop. We will also be providing a variety of cameras for students to use including Digital SLRs, Polaroid, Instax, and more! Students' final images will be published in an online exhibition to document the class. Included: field-trip to George Eastman Museum. Required: students must bring their own lunch. Snacks provided. This week-long experience is presented in partnership with George Eastman Museum. Instructors: Juliana Muniz & Liz Raymonda
