Letterpress: Wood Type Exploration

Dive into the bold world of 19th-century typography in this hands-on workshop designed for all skill levels. Participants will explore our diverse collection of vintage wood type and learn the fundamentals of handset letterpress printing—composition, inking, and printing.

Through guided, creative exploration, students will arrange their own short phrase or word collection—and pull prints on a Vandercook proofing press! This class focuses on experimentation, allowing for over-printing and artistic play, ensuring everyone leaves with unique, handmade posters or prints. No prior experience necessary. Dress to get inky!
