Live Musical Entertainment:
The Nate Rawls Band supplies various styles of music for entertainment in the form of classical, jazz, blues, standards, latin/carribean, big band and "top 40" tunes.
Rawls has played with legends such as Ray Charles, Dizzy Gillespie, Ramsey Lewis, Ben Vereen, Jackson Five, Barbara Mandrell, Martha Reeves & The Vandellas, The Commodores, Sonny & Cher, Stevie Wonder, Rita Moreno, Caroll Channing, Leonard Nemoy, Rochester Phil Harmonic Orchestra, and MANYmore.
Rawls has been a trumpet teacher at Hochstein School of Music for the past 30 years, is a member of The Rochester Musician's Union, and is Music Director of the SWAN Community Band (SouthWest Area Neighborhod Association and FCD Music School.
The 'Tin Can Set' formed in the winter of '09 to project a vocal and harmonic lexicon that Michael and Daniel had always been interested in exploring. The two met while performing with Rochester favorites 'Cavalcade' and 'Sick Gypsy.' An infatuation with Gypsy Punk and American Folk, and their musical gravitation toward social and emotional relevance lead to the partnership playing to very perceptive crowds. Encapsulating both uproarious proclamation and a weathered sadness within the structure of popular song, these two singers provide an engaging experience in concert and on record that leaves the listener feeling like they were part of an important communication...down a rope from can to can...
