Join us on First Friday, August 4 from 5:30 - 9pm for the opening of "Kitty Corner." Inspired by their love for their cats, this exhibition features work by Ceramics Artists-In-Residence Maliya Travers-Crumb and Andy Foster. Make sure to stop by before 7:30pm to snuggle with a kitten, meet Lollypop Farm's Foster Coordinators, and learn how you can help animals in our community by fostering a pet in need!
This event is free and open to the public. The show will be on display in our Firehouse Gallery until August 19.
Artists Bios:
Maliya Travers-Crumb is a ceramic artist from Rochester NY who creates small-batch pottery. She regards functional pottery as a unique opportunity for a piece of fine art to form a personal relationship with someone. It is something that is loved and held, that wears with time, and becomes part of a person's daily life. Maliya applies illustration and narrative techniques to her ceramics as a vehicle for forging this relationship.
Andy Foster is a potter working in reduction-fired stoneware. He obtained a BFA in ceramics from Houghton University in 2018 and received the Rising Star grant from the Wyoming County Arts Council in 2020. His work is influenced heavily by slip-ware traditions of English folk pottery and focuses on practical objects for use in the home.
