Layered is a dual exhibit featuring Matt Kelleher and Michael Ashley.
Kelleher is a visiting artist at New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred. As Matt continues a 15-year investigation of soda-fired tableware, he has broadened his interests to include sculptural vessels and bird inspired form.
Ashley's work is inspired by his love for the outdoors: "I want my ceramic work to look as if it was pulled from the river, with surfaces aged by current and silt and to simulate the movement of the river within the kiln, aging my pots with fire, just as the waters of the river have formed my life."
