ABOUT THE SHOW
My work revolves around layering patterns and stylized foliage over hand-built ceramic objects. Whether those objects are a series of functional pottery, or a grouping of tiles, I carry out repetitive actions to accumulate multiples. With different objects existing together, pattern is a way for me to visually organize the forms in relation to each other. The patterns and grids can obscure or interrupt the surface imagery or connect the objects as a series — it is the combination of these that the current work is focused on.
