Join us on First Friday, July 7 from 6 - 9pm for the opening reception of Vessels an exhibition of artwork by Aaron Rosa and Kat Given, current Ceramic Artists-In-Residence at Flower City Arts Center. The show will be on exhibition in our Firehouse Gallery until July 22.

Aaron Rosa was born in New Jersey and raised in Apollo Beach, Florida. In 2021 he earned his BFA with a dual emphasis in Ceramics and Printmaking and a minor in Community Arts from Bowling Green State University. There he focused on making large-scale sculptures of objects and collage prints that relate to his Puerto Rican heritage; specifically his interpretations of objects of necessity or utility he’s seen in the streets when visiting.

Kat Given is originally from Vermont but moved to Rochester, NY to attend Rochester Institute of Technology, where she graduated in 2014 with a degree in Industrial Design. She later discovered a love of ceramic arts in 2019 at the Flower City Arts Center. Kat is most interested in functional wares and uses a combination of carving techniques to apply illustrations to pots.
