Reilly Liberto

Biography

Reilly Liberto is a multidisciplinary artist exploring the intersection of clay and sound. The figure stands at the center of Reilly’s ceramic work, often taking form as holdable dolls. Reilly pulls from majolica glazing techniques to create a painterly effect on the surface of their sculptures. Utilizing found and synthesized motifs, Reilly digs through the depths of our collective feelings. Through a process of loops and improvisation, they explore the alteration of repetitive loop cycling to create dense soundscapes meant to be felt deep in your chest cavity. In both clay and sound Reilly recycles familiar imagery to highlight the more absurd nature of the world around us. Reilly plans to explore the auditory elements of clay during their residency. Reilly received a BFA in Ceramics and Sonic Art from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University.
