Jiageng Lin

Jiageng Lin is a photographer, designer, and shoemaker currently based in Rochester, NY. His photography focuses on memory, self-identity, and immigrant experience, exploring the complexities of cultural displacement. In recent years, Jiageng has developed a multi-disciplinary practice that includes design and shoemaking. Rather than separating these fields, he integrates them into his studio practice, allowing image-making and object-making to inform one another. Photography remains central to his work, influencing both the conceptual direction and visual language of his designs and handcrafted footwear. Jiageng received his MFA in Photography and Related Media from RIT in 2021.
