Molly O'Riley

2025 Printmaking & Book Arts Resident

Molly O’Riley (she/they) is a Rochester-based mixed media artist whose work layers printmaking, collage, drawing, and writing into what she calls a “memoir in layers.” Using gel plate monoprints, linocuts, image transfers, and found materials—often printed on book pages or tissue paper—she creates evolving archives that explore identity, resilience, and transformation, guided by her philosophy it’s all compost. Her work has been featured in solo exhibitions such as THE AUDACITY at The Yards, Deep Lines: Exploring Hidden Truths at Whitman Works, This Time Last Year at Nu Movement, and 99 Problems But A Print Ain’t One at The Southern Gallery in Atlanta, as well as group shows at Rochester Contemporary Art Center, Lumiere Photo, and Seneca Park Zoo x UUU Gallery. An alum of artist residencies at The Yards Art Collective and Fox Hollow Ranch, and curator of exhibitions including UnExpectations and Curves, Molly blends experimentation with deep personal narrative, inviting connection and honoring the transformative potential of the creative process.
