Nathaniel Mich

2026 Ceramics Resident

Nathaniel has been making wheel-thrown ceramics since 2019, when he returned to the medium that was a childhood favorite for the first time in fifteen years. He loves making art in community studios like Flower City Art Center, and treasures their supportive and encouraging environments for all skill levels. Nathaniel is the Executive Director of Taproot Collective, a small urban agriculture and youth employment non-profit, and has a Masters in Urban Planning from the University at Buffalo. A lifelong Rochestarian, his career has spanned urban agriculture, food systems policy, neighborhood development, community education, and being a nationally-recognized chocolatier. Outside of the studio and the office, Nathaniel is an avid gardener, kitchen witch, and a lover of sci-fi/fantasy books and table-top games.
