Sydney Maas

2025 Ceramics Resident

Sydney Maas is a multimedia artist from Jefferson, New Jersey. While earning her BFA in Photographic Arts and Sciences at Rochester Institute of Technology, she discovered a love for ceramics. During this time, she assisted an MFA student with their thesis and rediscovered her childhood love for sewing and the fiber arts. After receiving her BFA, she completed a year-long studio internship within the ceramics department of Flower City Arts Center. Here, she has been able to explore the connection between all three of her passions: photography, ceramics, and sewing. She is interested in themes of domesticity and femininity, and how the two are heavily linked.
