Especially seeking candidates with skills and connections in finance, human resources, construction and skilled trades, civic leadership, fundraising and education. Tired of serving on committees and sitting on the sidelines talking incessantly about problems? You can hit the ground running and truly make a difference by doing at the Flower City Arts Center. Serving on our board will give you a chance to see firsthand how your support can change people's lives.
Candidates must be over the age of 21 and have a passion for action. Candidates will serve in a volunteer capacity and must be able to
- attend board meetings
- be a community advocate and ambassador
- connect us to resources in the community
- serve on at least one standing committee
- provide financial support
Other desirable qualities include, but are not limited to, an ability to work with others in consensus mode, good leadership skills, a respect for the community, and a willingness to be an active participant.
The Flower City Arts Center, serving the community since 1970, brings art education services to a broad spectrum of residents across the area. Our photography, ceramics and book arts programs are available to community members of all ages, income and background.
Our organization is governed by a small board of directors whose professionalism and hard work enables the Flower City Arts Center to provide excellent programs that have a positive, lasting impact on those it serves.
