Digital Art: Inspiration to Production! (Youth Ages 13-17)

In this week-long workshop students will use the art of James Welling, presented by George Eastman Museum in the exhibition Choreograph, as a jumping off point in the creation of their own digital artworks. Students will visit the exhibition at George Eastman Museum and talk with photography curator Lisa Hostetler to get a deeper understanding of the work and see Welling's large format prints in person. At Flower City Arts Center, students will work in our Digital Lab and learn technical skills in Adobe Photoshop to combine images using color channels and selection tools. Students will learn to use our large format printer to create big prints of their own to take home. Included: Materials, field-trip to George Eastman Museum and a virtual meeting with artist James Welling. This week-long experience is presented in partnership with George Eastman Museum.
